One of our fabulous Adore Venues, Blue Mountain Resort, hosted Elyse and Ian’s ultra romantic mountaintop wedding. There were beautiful intimate moments, a gorgeous ceremony, and romantic reception full of all the candles you can imagine. Enjoy!

How did you meet?
We met through a mutual friend on a Vegas trip, sparks flew at the blackjack table, and the rest is history.
What was your proposal like?
We went on a long hike, at the end of the hike there is a huge rock overlooking water. We sat down on the rock and he popped the question.
What was most helpful in the planning process?
Our venue planners were AMAZING. They were super responsive and made everything I asked for come true.
What was most helpful on the day of the wedding?
Probably the planners again. We had a few hiccups throughout the day that I didn’t even know about because they were so on point.
What made you cry?
The first look, it was happy tears.
What was going through your mind when you saw your significant other for the first time that day?
I’m not sure what was going through my mind, I just remember the overwhelming emotion.
What advice would you give to couples who are currently in the planning process?
Prioritize what really matters to you because the little things that end up going wrong end up either not mattering that day or working out for the best. We planned our first dances and speeches to be broken up through out the night. The DJ ended up doing it all in the beginning of the reception and it was perfect.
Leading up, what moment was most important to you?
Walking down the aisle, I wanted it to set the tone for the wedding.
What was your favorite moment of the wedding day (if you had to pick just one)?
Walking down the aisle, it felt like slow motion.
What was your favorite design detail?
Our reception room was dim and lit with candles everywhere and tables covered in white petals.
What was something unique that you did?
Instead of a photo booth we had an area with a Poloroid camera. We also did a Polaroid picture guestbook. We didn’t know if it would be used but it ended up being a huge hit.
What was something fun that you did with your wedding party?
We let them choose what songs they came out to for the into and make their own dance coming out.
What made you laugh? Did you have an unforgettable funny moment?
Breakdance battles on the dance floor.
What moment was most important for you to have captured by the photographer?
Our first dance and our first dance with our parents.
What would you do differently?
It’s really hard to think of anything I would do differently, but if I had to pick, Id hire the photographers for the whole night (our package had them leave a couple hours before it was all over).
What is something you wished someone would have told you in preparation for your wedding day?
A second pair of shoes is 100% necessary. I had my second pair but didn’t realize how quickly I was going to change out of them.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? I am sure it was nice to relax after all your planning!
Aruba, it was great, highly recommend. Everyone there is either on their honeymoon or getting engaged.
