Sarah and Shaun’s Blue Mountain Bliss May Wedding was nothing short of extravagant, yet simple, and overwhelming with joy. In honor of their anniversary, we are honored to share their beautiful day with you!
What was your proposal like?
It was at my home, with family, at Thanksgiving Dinner!
What was most helpful in the planning process?
Blue Mountain supplied us with all the documents that they needed. It helped me so much to get all of my thoughts together and made it super simple for me! They did all the hard work!
What was most helpful on the day of the wedding?
Our wedding staff at Blue Mountain; they did everything! I pretty much got there and walked down the aisle! It made the day stress free because they handled everything flawlessly!
What was something unique that you did?
My dad passed away 3 years ago. We had kept one of his favorite shirts, which happened to be blue, so my mom cut a piece of the shirt and sewed it into a part of my dress. It was my something blue!
What was something fun that you did with your wedding party?
We had an AWESOME wedding party. My favorite moment was before the ceremony when we were about to walk down the aisle and every person was just as excited as I was to marry my best friend!
What moment was most important for you to have captured by the photographer?
The formal pictures are good to have, but I love the candid photos. It just shows your friends and family having a good time.
What was going through your mind when you saw your significant other for the first time that day?
Honestly, first thought was don’t fall down the steps! We did a first look where I was walking down the stairs and he slowly turned around. Once I made it to the bottom, I had the biggest smile on my face and was just so excited to be standing next to him! I’m pretty sure I squealed a bit.
What advice would you give to couples who are currently in the planning process?
Soak it up and enjoy it. Don’t get caught up in the little details because everything will work out. Enjoy every second of the whole planning process and enjoy the day because it goes by so fast! And make sure you eat!
What would you do differently for your May wedding?
No rain- but you can’t control weather!
What made you laugh? Did you have an unforgettable funny moment?
Before our officiant officially announced us as Mr. & Mrs. Adickes he told a joke… He told Shaun to put his hands on top of mine and said, “Take this moment in, it’s the last time you will have the upper hand”.
What was your favorite design detail?
We really didn’t have a theme, but we stuck mostly to rustic wood, but I like how we had a bunch of different pieces and everything just seemed to come together perfectly!
What is something you wished someone would have told you in preparation for your wedding day?
Make sure you can comfortably sit in your dress!
What was your favorite moment of the wedding day (if you had to pick just one)?
Literally everyone on the dance floor!
