Multiple Couples, One Wedding Day, All in the Name of Love

This past spring, more than one couple were happily married all on one day during a pop-up wedding!

Equal Dignity Pop Up Nuptials (EDPUN) celebrate all families joining in affirming, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, free civil ceremonies. Philadelphia and Eastern Pennsylvania’s top wedding industry vendors donate time and services to give couples a big-budget marriage ceremony at no cost.

With core values rooted in justice, acceptance and celebration of all people, EDPUN curates beautiful pop-up weddings and provides free civil ceremonies to all couples and families to join in legal unity.

Aishwarya was one of the brides that day. She shared:

“Being able to have our families present physically was incredible. The details of the ceremony were also incredible, very personal. We had gotten legally married a week before via zoom, his entire family was 5 minutes late and missed the entire “ceremony” and my family all joined via zoom but it was such a short ceremony. I was so disappointed and felt as though our wedding was going uncelebrated.”

“Being able to seal our love in the presence of everyone is huge. I’m not sure how to put into words the significance of this event. Having my parents walk me down the aisle, the ceremony with the elders, the champagne toast–everything is just so special. The day was incredible.”

Maura, bride and sister of Rebecca Mulholland at RAM Floral, shared:

“My husband and I never wanted a big wedding. So when the opportunity arose to have something beautiful but small and personal, how could we say no? My favorite part was my husband. But besides him, I would have to say the ease of it all. We could focus on each other, and all the adventures we are going to have together.”

“The pop-up far exceeded anything we could have ever imagined. Our photographer was absolutely amazing! The flowers and arrangements were breathtaking. Penn String Ensemble learned the theme song from Legend of Zelda for us as our recessional. This event meant a bigger and better life with the man that I can’t see not being in me and my daughter’s life. I guess the funniest part to all of it is we didn’t do much afterwards. We had an amazing early dinner at River House at Odette’s after the ceremony.”
