Armen Elliott is a fabulous photographer in Easton, Pa! Below, she has taken the time to share her wisdom, and journey with photography.
How did you get started in this business?
While exploring ideas for my master’s degree in photography, I became curious about what happens behind the scenes during a wedding. So I went to the marriage license bureau in downtown Manhattan, and I asked exiting couples if I could take a few photos at their wedding in exchange for some 8×10 prints. My work took me all over the city— the Upper West Side, Harlem, Brooklyn, Queens… It was very exciting then, and it’s still a new adventure every time I shoot. I guess you could say I was the original wedding crasher…
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
The ceremony: everything from the nervous anticipation right before walking down the aisle, to the emotional exchange of vows, to the joyful walk back down the aisle.

Growing plants, outdoors and indoors. Among my indoor plants is an 8- foot tall palm tree that always brightens my mood in the winter months.

I married one of my (Easton-based) cousin’s best friends.

At my own wedding, my husband and I snuck out towards the end of our reception for a bite to eat at the diner across the street!

Couples often forget to feed their wedding party lunch/brunch. It’s a long day and you’ll want to keep them hydrated and fed.
Do you have an embarrassing wedding moment? That happened to you/or that you observed?
After seeing the assembled guests staring at him, an adorable ring bearer turned and ran back down the aisle wailing; it might have been embarrassing for his parents, but everyone else loved it.
What are some of your favorite aspects of your business?
I love capturing the real moments of emotion between the couple, as well as their relationships with their family and friends; allowing them to look back and see how beautiful their lives really were on their wedding day. My superpower is the ability to stop time. I just love when couples and their families confess that they teared up looking through their images.
What do you wish couples knew about your part of the wedding industry?
The person behind the camera should be someone you trust, who has a kind heart and a creative, playful mind, and who has your best interests at heart.
What is the best way for a couple to prepare to meet with you?
The best thing to do is check out my website, read my reviews, and be ready with any questions!
